Baptismal Covenant

Picture
Holy Baptism is full initiation into the community of the Christian Church. The Baptismal Covenant connects the believer with the ancient Christian tradition, calls the believer to strive for justice and peace among all people and to respect the dignity of every Human being.

The Baptismal Covenant is to be lived out in community with others and in the context of everyday life. The Christian Baptismal Covenant calls the believer to proclaim and demonstrate the Good News of love among all people.

It is with the support and fellowship of local faith communities that believers learn, share, and receive strength and encouragement to live out the Baptismal Covenant in everyday life.

Baptismal Covenant
~
With God's help I will continue in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in the prayers.
With God's help I will proclaim by word and example the Good News of love.
With God's help I will seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving my neighbor as myself.
With God's help I will strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.
Amen.

What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.    -- Micah 6:8
